WELCOME TO MY BLOG! Thank you for coming. I know you are busy and have lots to do. My mind has so many things racing around inside - I want to paint, to sew, to scrapbook and to bake. Sometimes the "necessary" preempts the fun stuff. I do know this - when I choose to pray and read God's Word EVERY day, I am content. "Delight yourself in the LORD, and HE will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4

A Call To Prayer

Ephesians 6:18 "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints."

I woke up in the middle of the night as I often do for one reason or another.  Last night it happened twice.  The first time I went right back to sleep, but not the second.  So I did what anyone with time on their hands does - I got on facebook.  To my surprise, two of my friends were up as well and BOTH of them were asking for prayers either for themselves or for someone they love.

I have another friend (Linda) who is a pastor's wife.  When I mentioned my "middle of the night" wakefulness she didn't even hesitate to respond. "Maybe God is calling you to pray."

And so last night I turned off the computer and began to pray for my two friends, and for others as well.  Had I not already been up for two hours, I'm certain I would have prayed longer.  It wasn't long until I went to bed and immediately went back to sleep.

Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

This morning I pray, "Thank you God for friends - those who let us know they have needs, and for those who give suggestions when we express our own needs.  Thank you for the avenue of prayer - the gift of communication to You, our Father.  In the name of Your Son, Amen."
