WELCOME TO MY BLOG! Thank you for coming. I know you are busy and have lots to do. My mind has so many things racing around inside - I want to paint, to sew, to scrapbook and to bake. Sometimes the "necessary" preempts the fun stuff. I do know this - when I choose to pray and read God's Word EVERY day, I am content. "Delight yourself in the LORD, and HE will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4

I REMEMBER

Early on September 11, 2001 my daughter called.  "Turn on the TV, Mom."  I did, just in time to watch live coverage of the second plane hitting the second tower. I joined millions of people at that moment as I wept.

The skies were empty for four days - no "contrails," no sounds of jets roaring above, not even small aircraft sailing the blue September skies.  It was eerie, and almost as if we were awaiting something even bigger and still worse.

At that time I believed we as Americans would be changed forever, and noted kindness and courtesy as even strangers conversed.

We've changed our world view; we've changed our military stance; we've changed politically, economically and we've changed in the eyes of the rest of the world.

Most of us, however, are back to our "old" selves - honking at those who cut us off in traffic and grumbling about long lines at the supermarket.

Stories came out later - written by people who "should" have been in one of the towers that day but were cicumvented one way or another. One woman had a rip in her nylons and returned home to change.  Others were stuck in traffic, or forgot something and had to turn back.

Sometimes I remember these stories when I'm stuck in traffic or inconvenienced by returning home to retrieve my phone.  If nothing else, it is a test of patience.  Remembering a tragedy helps me prioritize - what IS really important in this life???

Ephesians 4:1-3 "I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."

These are what a Christian should be - not full of hate for others who aren't compliant to our will, not impatient or unkind. Let us remember the tragedies of this world, but most importantly, remember to "maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."

Isaiah 40:31 "Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary."
